Lana Del Rey extends her 15 minutes in new H&M campaign
Lana Del Rey seems to have rebounded from her critically panned album quite nicely, recently scoring a high profile gig with H&M as well as being named GQ UK’s woman of the year. How this bobblehead has managed to extend her 15 minutes is well beyond me, but I must admit I’m impressed with her management.
Her new commercial for the bargain-priced hipster clothier tips a cap to David Lynch, as it features a lethargic Del Ray crooning ‘Blue Velvet’ and an angry midget thrown in for good measure. Now don’t get me wrong, I’m a big admirer of the master director, but referencing ‘Twin Peaks’ to appear artsy is more than a tad out of touch. The expiration date’s way long past due as far as the weirdness factor is concerned. Besides, watching an episode of ‘Here Comes Honey Boo Boo’ is far more surreal and exponentially more disturbing.
What is it with this Del Rey chick anyway? Is she a singer, a model a wannabe actress? I suppose these distinctions no longer matter nowadays. For the time being she’s achieved her goal – fame…fame at all costs for little Lizzy Grant.
Physically she reminds me of a young Karen Black. She’s got that same cross-eyed, dazed and confused look about her. Of course Black actually had some acting ability; Del Rey just seems to be another dead trout hurled upon the bow of our social consciousness by a rich daddy and a savvy management team.
I suppose the fact that she’s not a completely insufferable Kardashian level cipher makes her a veritable artiste by today’s standards.

I don’t even like her, but her album was far from critically panned. Chris Brown’s latest album was panned. And if you were at all grounded in today’s music industry, you would know right when you heard her music that she would have a lot more than 15 minutes waiting for her. Don’t write subjective articles if you don’t know what the words objectivity, research and current means. Time to retire!
Bashing on her it’s so last year. And “her critically panned album” it’s not that bad, actually the only bad reviews are from US reviews that are basically bashing on her ( like you) with no aparently reason besides her SNL performance.
What an unnecessarily hateful, mean article, written without any redeeming quality in the piece. Why? Her album has sold over 2.7 million copies, despite the flood of vile, stupid article such as this, and what made you think her millions of fans would let her go after her supposed 15 minutes. Have you even listened to the album? (a pointless rhetorical question, as you clearly have not). The amazing thing about the internet these days is that anyone, no matter how unqualified or stupid, can get a computer and put up a blog, filling it with screeds of stupidity with impunity, Because of Google, such pointless posts by completely unqualified people unfortunately are seen by some people. Reading this piece of sewerage however requires having a bath afterwards!
Sewerage?
Got me! This website/blog is the sewerage through which such sewage flows!
Can I suggest that Sam Gho takes over this ‘site’? He’s certainly far more eloquent than the present incumbent.
Yeah..uh… that’d be good.
who ever said she was an actress? shes a singer, and i hope you look up the one interview of her because you get to see how wonderful she is. or at least listen to the album..
bitter train party of one! and for the record the album received “generally favorable reviews” according to metacritic the aggregated critic site. I hate people like you who clearly have no idea what you’re talking about. have you listened to her album? do you know anything about her? you suck
What a horribly written article, so much for journalistic integrity.
I take pity on you. You obviously are lacking in passion. Lana’s music is beautiful and inspiring. It’s apparent that you haven’t even listened to her art. Before you begin bashing, please gain some knowledge on your topic. Isn’t that the first rule of thumb in reporting? You need to know what you’re talking or writing about. Please go back to the drawing board; you came up very short on this review.
At least Lizzi has 9 fans to come to her ‘bimbo in distress’ rescue
Lana Del Ray should probably stick to giving music executives rimjobs. That’s all she’s good for.
Whereas as Lana Del REY should serenely carry on her path to world dominance in music, fashion and film.
I’m actually a fan of Lana Del Rey’s and I was already shocked by the picture you used. The mere fact that you had t edit it to compare her to someone else already shows how desperate you are to find faults. Please, just write an objective article and spare us this dribble.
From the underbrush emerges two Lana haters (lotita lost in the hood & Teahouse Hottie) who establish their credentials for thoughtful discourse by posting such amazingly insightful and erudite comments. Bravo!
It’s more interesting that the drivel her 10 yr old fans have to say:
MY GODDESS !!!!!!!!, This song so vintage, i like it ! Aternative ROCK, She’s so cute, her nails are sick, I want to be her seriously, Dat lips…i luv you lana, I mean the most comments about the woman are how beautiful she is…but we all know she had surgery so she’s not a natural beauty more like a manufacture….well I wouldn’t even say beauty…is clothes horse fair?
