The Large Hadron Collider works, setting a new record for high-energy collisions!

This Tuesday, after a couple of failed starts, and amidst murmurings of nefarious time travelling sabotage, the Large Hadron Collider  finally shot off its load successfully, setting a record for high-energy collisions by crashing two proton beams at three times more force than ever before.

Thus begins a new era in physics which could reveal mind bending details about theoretical particles and microforces, including proof of the mysterious ‘god particle’ or ‘Higgs Boson’ particle, which could explain the origin of mass in the Universe. Some are concerned that all of this will result in the end of the world, but I say, ‘end of the world, sh-mend of the world’, you can’t stop progress…even if it leads to our ultimate destruction!
