THE ZEITGEISTY REPORT

New York City due for MAJOR earthquake…’expect it any minute’

In more apocalyptic news, NYC is due for a major earthquake any day now.

Jeez, it’s been a rough month as far as these types of stories go. First there was that Betelgeuse supernova deal, then a killer asteroid hitting us in 2036 and the discovery of a hidden planet in our solar sytem which could be the infamous ‘Planet X’. I tell you…I need a valium the size of a hockey puck!

Won-Young Kim, is today’s bearer of bad news. He runs the seismographic network for the Northeast at Columbia University’s Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory, so I guess he knows what he’s talking about.

“It can happen anytime soon,” Kim said. “We can expect it any minute, we just don’t know when and where.”

Any minute? Well isn’t that special.

New York has never experienced a magnitude 6 or 7 earthquake, which are the most dangerous. But magnitude 5 quakes could topple brick buildings and chimneys.

Yeah…I live in a brick building in Manhattan. Whoopee for me.

Oh well, on the bright side, the asteroid could always hit us before the earthquake does.

  1. Duck and cover!!

I would like to tell you about the QuakeGuardian, because if you survive the quake, you would like to know that your wine did as well!

The QuakeGuardians were designed for conventional wine racks with the slide rails and angled slide rails at 6 1/2 degrees, because the angled slide rail will become ineffective when you have a moderate to large quake.
Just look at the shake test and judge for yourself.
The idea came from me back in 2004 while trying to sleep, I was thinking about building a wine rack under the house and the next thing, being from California was earth quakes. What is out there to help protect wine from earth quakes?

So the next morning I started searching online to see what was out on the market.
I came across the wine racks you recommend with 6 ½ degree angled sloped slide rails for
Earth quake safety of wine in the wine rack.
This question I had to ask myself. “Does this really protect wine during a seismic event?”

Well I found out later the question was answered with spectacular results. To make a long story short and with the help of my brother in law, the QuakeGuardian was born.
It started with a coil cord, as the leash and one large metal ring to go around the neck of the bottle, two split rings and a securing pin. I started getting lots of interest here in California.

Now my question needed to be answered and shake testing was done by Anco Engineers.
The President of Anco “Paul Ebanez” helped design the huge shake table at Cal Berkeley.
We had two wine racks on the shake table, one with the QuakeGuardians installed and the other rack had the 6 ½ degree angled slide rails. Well we found that a 6.5 or greater all the bottles had nice loft as they left the wine rack before smashing on the floor in a nice pile of glass and wine blend. The shake testing was increased up to a 7-8 range magnitude quake.

Here is the youtube.com shake test link. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IlmMgJGJjH8

The Quake Guardian was patented in 2007 and sales have been getting bigger every year.
We now have a new “EDPM” leash for the QuakeGuardian was designed for an Engineer who lives on top of the
San Andreas Fault. The new leash will take much, much more abuse and will not dry out like a rubber band or o-ring and will not move out of the way when a bottle comes shooting to the front of the rack, like a o-ring does.
This is the leash that we now have on all of the QuakeGuardians.
One of our clients, “Nick” has on his wine racks, but Nick has two leashes for his double deep racks.

Go to our web site http://www.QuakeGuardian.com and look at the testimonial page and click on the PDF for some of our clients different types of wine racks

We have had people with the angled slide rails buy QuakeGuardians because when it come to the cost and loss of some bottles. Many people will not take that chance.

You know the big one is coming and the question is when. It may not happen any minute, but I bet it will happen before a meteor does!

We have had Clients from Canada to Nashville TN and all through California OR WA.

    Thank you

  10. Don Alex

Eh, dont worry about it, as long as people like you keep writing mocking tongue in cheek “dont worry be happy” articles every time you see this sort of story in the news, then youll be too busy smirking and chortling to yourself at how clever you think that you are for not buying into all of this silly apocalyptic nonsense. I wonder if you were giggling at those wacky “predictions” going around in the late 90s about a man from the middle east attacking New York from the sky? (Nostradamus? har har, yeah right!) Ill bet you stopped giggling on 9/11/2001, didnt you? Sorry, chuckles, didnt mean to rain on your kneejerk debunking with the reality that sometimes, bad things do happen in the world, and whistling past the graveyard wont work if they come true. But Im sure you know more about earthquakes than seismologists. While youre at it, laugh at the recent rash of quakes in Arkansas that have scientists baffled. Isnt that special too? Carry on, sunshine superman! :)

  11. A Believer

Well they all laughed at Noah when he built the ark. Who was the first to claw at the arks’ door when the rain began to flood? Yes the mockers! Do not mock what you do not really understand it is just a sign off your ignorance. The scriptures prophecy all that is happening and it is gonna get worse…The best thing is to be ready for what is to come. Be spiritually ready because wheather you believe it or not isn’t gonna stop it from happening…Put yourselves in God’s care and He will take care of you no matter what happens.

  12. BobStrebs

Which will come first, quake or asteroid? And I never got to see Cats. Damn. Hey Ed, does wine vaporize?
