Scott Walker prank phone call reveals he’s a total SLIMEBALL!

This is just priceless!

That is the headline from Election Day 1972, I know, but it’s also today’s headline on das RANT. Listen, there’s wrong with recycling old headlines. Please get in touch with me if you hear of anyone named Lincoln getting shot, okay?

News of the recent assault on CBS foreign correspondent Lara Logan while she was covering the Egyptian revolution sickened us all. When CBS issued their statement detailing what had transpired, sentences like ‘sustained sexual assault’ and ‘internal injuries’ leaped out, painting an absolutely horrifying picture, in turn making a lot of us question how this could have happened. One would think that security would be priority one while reporting on as dicey a situation as…you know…a REVOLUTION.

Buckle down, Wisconsin, buckle down! You can win, Wisconsin, if you knuckle down!

Twenty-three days past the halfway point of his first term finds the man with a mixed record. He called his autobiography “The Audacity of Hope”. During the campaign of 2008, he spoke of change we can believe in. Many of us were hoping for radical change. We didn’t get it – or at least, we haven’t gotten it yet. I am tempted to believe that for purely expedient political reasons, Barack Obama is saving his best routines for act two. Maybe I’m kidding myself. Maybe not. We shall see what we shall see.

I’m not quite sure what has happened in Jon Stewart’s world, but somewhere along the line, the ‘Daily Show’ funny man has turned into a real stick in the mud. After years of poking fun, satirizing, passing judgement and snarking like a gadfly on steroids, all of a sudden Stewart’s grown a conscience, and no longer tolerates any pundit with an angry tone.

For the life of me I’ve never been able to understand this country’s dysfunctional love affair with this corrupt and feeble-minded old fool. At a time in his life when he should have been tucked snugly in an assisted living program somewhere, being spoon-fed oatmeal, Ronald Reagan was living in the Executive Mansion.

I will say the only words I know that you understand, my Michele: You’re a dunce.

I’m going to miss Keith Olbermann. I didn’t watch Friday night’s program because I went to be earlier than usual. As a habit, if I miss one of his broadcasts I will watch an early-morning rerun of it. That wasn’t an option this time. Every Friday night at the stroke of midnight, MSNBC goes into stupid mode with their idiotic exploitation documentaries. Every weekend it is worse than FOX Noise. I only found out about Keith’s departure from the network late Saturday morning.

While the tone of Obama’s SOTU speech was ‘Kumbaya-ishly’ bi-partisan, the Republican reaction was simply business as usual.
