Riding in on a rudimentary “I Can’t Explain” riff, the first track to surface from the new Truckers album is a bit of a shower and a grower. The lyrics are typical DBT ne’er do-well tropes, the verses fine though not arresting, but once it ascends into the chorus it achieves the same sort of straight-faced, classic southern rock vigor of “The Righteous Path” from the last album. “This F*cking Job” isn’t quite on the level of that tune, but it’s been stuck in my head as I awoke the past two mornings, so that’s enough to get me looking forward to The Big To-Do, the band’s ATO debut.
