The Z Report would like to showcase one of our newest favorite artists; singer/songwriter, curmudgeon, poet and agoraphobic… Hermit

Who is the Hermit?

Some speculate, he’s the original hipster. Some say he’s a figment of the imagination. Still others claim him to be the Ghost of Christmas Past. I don’t think anyone really knows for sure… yet he exists… ‘cause we’ve got his album to prove it.

Left on our doorstep with a phone number hastily scribbled on it, we took a listen and have been playing it ever since…

After a few days, we gathered up the courage and called him up. 20 rings later, a gruff voice answered… The following is the resulting conversation verbatim:

Z Report: Uh.. is this Hermit?

Hermit: Yeah, what of it?

ZR: Well, hi there.. this is The Zeitgeisty Report, we got your CD…

Hermit: Uh huh.

ZR: We think it’s terrific… You recorded that where?

Hermit: ……

ZR: ‘Cause it’s got a real lo-fi thing happening there… was that intentional?

Hermit: Production is for pussies.

ZR: Anyone else play on the album?

Hermit: Nope.

ZR: Uh… do you have anything to say to our readers? Anything about the record? Where they can find it?

Hermit: I got nothing to say to your readers except to take a good long look at yourselves in the mirror. The longer you look, the more you’ll start to disappear…. That’s a fact, look it up.

And with that, Hermit hung up. When we tried calling back, there was no response.

So take a listen and try not to disappear… the guy may be a nut, but the album is great.
